About Us
Hope Lutheran was founded in 2006 to serve the people of Henry county in one of the nations fastest growing areas. In 2008, Hope was blessed to dedicate a preschool and church facility at a great location between Hampton and McDonough on Hwy 20. We are a growing congregation that centers all we do on God’s inspired Word. Our worship and preaching strive to be relevant and all our education opportunities bring the truth of sin and forgiveness in Jesus to all ages. Outreach is our heartbeat as we share the message of Jesus with our friends, our neighbors and the community.
The ministry of Hope is reaching beyond just Henry County. Through our partnership with our national church body, we not only are helped in our mission start here in Georgia, but we are active in spreading God’s Word in mission support throughout the world.
Hope Lutheran is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (or WELS). The WELS is a conservative Lutheran Church body (the third largest Lutheran church body nationally). Our national and international offices are located in Milwaukee, WI. Founded in 1850 in Milwaukee by three German pastors, today our body has 1200 congregations served by over 1000 pastors throughout America. The membership total’s more than 400,000 baptized and 300,000 communicants. (Not including our ever growing foreign missions.)
The WELS operates four ministerial education school (high schools, college and Seminary) as well as a publication house and several other independent ministries connected to our synod. For more information about the WELS, check out www.wels.net. You will find a wide variety of information, interviews, statements of belief and a topical question & answer section. We also offer daily devotions E-mailed, a quarterly devotion book and a monthly magazine entitled “Forward in Christ” available for you.
